Verify the qualifications of electricians on your sites
The quality of an electrical installation depends on not only the electrical contractor’s company registration but, crucially, the person carrying out the work.
The pre-qualification stage of the tender process is often used to identify the qualifications of electrical contractors who are invited to tender for work on a project. However, the actual make-up of the workforce has not, until now, been easily visible to clients and main contractors.
ECS Check is a new online system that allows main contractors and clients to verify the skills and qualifications of electrical personnel working on projects.
The ECS already verifies applicants’ qualifications in order to issue them with an ECS card – and has done so for over 45 years. There are around 65,000 electricians working at ECS Gold Card level to show they meet the industry-recognised standard.
Those working at ECS Registered Electrician level can also demonstrate that they hold the latest edition of BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and have committed to maintain their technical knowledge and qualifications.
Clients, main contractors and project managers can have confidence in the quality of the electrical workforce on their projects through ECS Check’s online portal, which allows users to validate the electrical workforce on site and produce electronic summaries for auditing and reporting.
